Triathlete star William Huffman who was battling consequent bouts with mono has finally made his 2015 debut with last Sunday’s race at Ecuador.

The Dallas star said that he has taken a more cautious approach with his training this time. “I am not saying that I am 100% fit right now. But I have got back to my training of late but with a slightly different approach that would help me not to slip into the sad hole where I was into this last fall & winter”, remarked Huffman before he flew to Ecuador.

The two-time Under 23 USA Triathlon National Champ is the major seed at CAMTRI that was hosted at Salinas last Sunday. Seeding is set based on the athlete’s points last year. He is well aware that he still has to train a lot to get into his previous race shape & is looking to peak up later this season. While talking about the Sunday race, he said that he is mostly concentrated towards “being in hunt”.

Just top 6 Americans would be able to secure places into Olympic U.S. Triathlon Trials. This multi-stage procedure would commence with 1st August at Rio ITU World Olympic Qualification Event.

“In the perfect world, I would not be racing”, continued the Dallas star. “The bitter truth is that now I need to run to chase points for my place on Rio start list.”

Currently, William said that he feels that he is 5th among Americans in the ITU totals. Now, these points continuously roll on & off.
